Calendar, Images, Patterned Paper – A Muse Artstamps

Channeling my inner Martha…

I sometimes like to pretend that I am just like Martha, and imagine that my projects will come out to look just like hers.  This never really works out the way I plan, but I carry on anyway.  Her Halloween projects are just about the coolest around.

Today Ryan and I decided to tackle one of my favorites- glittery pumpkins.

We used craft pumpkins from the craft store, and lucky for me Martha’s glitter (the best ever) was on clearance too.  Good thing cause we used a ton!

I decided to do this project outside since I knew it was going to get messy (and it was so gorgeous outside), but of course the wind blew every time I went to glitter something.  I am now covered in black & glow in the dark glitter :)

Ryan went for the glow in the dark glitter (which was unfortunately NOT on sale).  It came out so cool, although a little blotchy in places.  3 year olds (and Mom’s) aren’t as good at getting even coats of glue as Martha is.  It’s very cool in the dark, and we can’t wait to put it outside on Halloween night.  Hard to see in the picture but we tried to get a shot of the glow…

Have a great weekend!

Copic leaves

Here’s a fall-inspired card I made for one of my Copic classes a while back.  We used the blender pen and an acrylic block to blend the colors.  This technique gets a bit tricky, and seemed to be the least favorite :)

Candy Apples

Can you believe how many blog posts I’ve had this week?  It’s been forever since I’ve been able to get so much done and post too!  It must be because I love Halloween cards so much :)   Here’s another one I made recently and then never posted.

I used the candy corn stamp in Memento cantelope ink to make some background paper.  I also added some diamond glaze to the caramel portion of the apple, but it’s tricky to see here.  A white gel pen makes the stick portion stand out against the orange background.  I’ve never liked caramel apples- love apples, but hate them when they’re coated in caramel.  Go figure.

Halloween Treat

Here’s a treat container I made for Halloween.  Bad picture, sorry.  I just love the A Muse Bernice stamp, and this Martha Stewart test tube container was perfect for her.  I filled it with Halloween M&M’s.

A Muse Addicts

This was a big weekend for crafting – first we had the pajama party on Saturday night, and Sunday we had another A Muse Addicts New England gathering at Ink About It- so fun!  We have a shoebox swap and get to do some serious crafting.  Of course, I HAD to make a Halloween card- what else is there this time of year?

I really wanted to use some of my favorite older Halloween images.  This sentiment and crow are two of the ones I love.  I added black flock to the crow to make him look a little spookier.

Challenge #4- Thank you

Rhonda’s turn!  This challenge is great for me, since I’m always needing thank you cards to send out.

I love bright pink or bright yellow with dark grey, and ever since the new slate notecards came out I’ve been dying to make a card with this color scheme.

It’s a bit hard to see in this picture, but I used the mini flower to make a background in pale pink.  I also added a bright pink twinkle sticker to the center of the yellow flower for some bling.  Hope you had fun tonight! Thanks for playing along!

Challenge #3 – Favorite TV Show

Next up is Geeta’s challenge- your favorite fall TV show.  Mine is Survivor, but of course I love reality tv in general.

I used a plain piece of copy paper to help me mask off part of the skinny oval bl stamp to make the island.  I didn’t have any brown stickles, so I used regular glitter- doesn’t look quite what I envisioned ;)

Challenge #2- Fall Colors

It’s my turn!! I’m so excited since this is my first time hosting one of the pajama parties.  Fall is just beginning to turn, and here in New England that means the leaves are changing to the most brilliant shades of reds, oranges, and yellows.  My favorite time of year!
For this challenge, make a card inspired by fall colors.

Here is mine…

I love coffee, and have been missing it a lot lately since I’m pregnant and trying to avoid caffeine- decaf just isn’t the same.  I had some new pumpkin colored Smooch sitting on my desk, and this was a great excuse to break it out.  Here’s a close up of the sparkle- love that stuff!

Challenge #1- Halloween Candy

Welcome to the A Muse Pajama Party!  If you’re not playing along, head over to the A Muse lounge to check it out!

The first challenge comes from Jennie, and is to make a card inspired by your favorite Halloween candy.  My absolute favorite is peanut butter Twix, but since that doesn’t really make it’s way into Halloween size, I went for my old favorite- candy corn.  I was inspired by this post from another A Muse addict- aren’t these treat boxes the cutest things ever?
I decided to make a card version for this challenge since we’re under a time limit.

To make this, I cut out pieces of orange and white cardstock to glue onto a papaya notecard.  I drew pencil marks on the card making a 1″ section in the center of the fold at the top, then used my paper trimmer to cut straight lines down to each corner.  I then just used scissors to quickly round off the corners.
