2 Sickies and a Baby

So much for our Valentine’s date night tonight. My 4 1/2 year old is sick with a fever and cough, and my husband has now caught the stomach bug I had last week. So today in between taking care of my two sickies and the baby, I’m fitting in some craft time and some craft room organization/cleaning (Been working on that for a while actually). Maybe I’ll actually get it together and get a list up of my A Muse stamps that I have cleaned out and are for sale!

Going to make some Valentine’s cards tonight I think! Here’s a super cute Valentine iPhone printable I found – it wraps around a box of candy hearts -love it. Perfect for my techie iPhone loving husband ;)

Here’s a quick digital scrapbook page I made using one of Crystal Wilkerson’s quick page templates (you can find them at www.jessicasprague.com). She has started selling templates based off of Susan Weinroth’s paper scrapbook pages (who I love), and they’re great for a quick scrapbook page (one you can even fit in between taking care of the kiddos!)

Julia's Birthday copy

Those cupcakes are almost too embarrassing to put in the picture, but that’s what happens when you have a kid who can’t eat dairy, soy or eggs. Gummy cupcakes made with flaxseed -yech! They weren’t so bad until they cooled off, and then they got super gummy and chewy. Lucky for me, this was Julia’s first cupcake, so she had nothing to compare it too!

Hope you’re having a great weekend!

The Wheatie series

Last weekend I was in the Paper Source and saw this stamp.  We have a Wheaten Terrier named Fenway who looks just like this, so I knew I had to have it! We also have a West Highland Terrier, and I have a few stamps that look like him, but nothing for poor Fenway.  I had so much fun playing with this one, I ended up with a whole Wheatie series.

I have been loving Julie’s clean and simple white and cream cards, so I decided to try my own.  I was really happy with how it came out, and am going to have to try more of these.  I used a heart pebble from Making Memories.

This one I made for my 10 year old neighbor, who helped with my dogs while the rest of my family was out of town (and I was working late).

And this one I made just for fun.  I had the dogs “give” it to my daughter for V-day. :)

This is the real Fenway – pretty close, huh?

Enjoy!

Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day!! Here are a couple of cards I made using Memory Box penguins, and A Muse sentiments.  I  just love these little penguins- too cute!  On the first one, I used pink stickles to add some shimmer, and a Martha Stewart scalloped heart border punch.

On this next one, I used a Martha Stewart scalloped heart punch, and then added diamond glaze to the top for some shine.

Hope you enjoy your day!!

A little Valentine…

I had some nice relaxing time in my craft room today.  No deadlines, no projects, just whatever I wanted to do.  I made some cute Valentine’s with my favorite Valentine stamp, Elyse from A Muse.  I was in Boston yesterday and picked up these fuschia notecards from the Paper Source- I just love that store!  And they now have cards in my favorite pink color :)

Enjoy :)

Sweet Friend

I just love Makenna- she’s one of my all time favorite A Muse stamps.  Yes, I do say that about alot of my A Muse stamps, but she is up there in the top 5, along with Elyse.  I just love their little girl images :)!

I decided that what would be better to use with the new Sweet Shoppe stamps than Makenna and her lollipop?? I also decided that maybe I need to break away from my pink phase- I tend to use a lot of pink, and as I have learned, not everyone likes pink *gasp*!  :)

So, I went with Red on this one, and used a circle punch and scalloped circle punch to make a window card with the ice cream stamped on the inside.  I stamped Makenna once on white paper, cut her out,  then stamped her again on the polka dot paper, cutting out only the dress and paper piecing it on.  I glued her down, and used a fine line marker to make some ground for her to stand on.  I then used Doodlebug Paper Frills scallops at the top, and an A Muse red sheer ribbon.

Not sure how I feel about the finished product- didn’t turn out quite as I had pictured it, but I’m trying not to blame it on the red color :)

Everyone has a price….

One of my top 5 all time favorite A Muse stamps is Elyse.  I just had to find a way to work her into my Valentine’s class!

There was NO coloring on this card- can you believe it?  But, we did use lots of other fun things – eyelets, PINK glitter, and new A Muse pink tutu ribbon.  The scalloped heart I was trying to go for the look of one of those chocolate boxes you see this time of year.  We dipped the edges in pink glitter for some fun effects.  The little chocolates are from the clear Party Time A Muse set, and worked perfectly with this card.

Valentine’s Treat Holder

Here’s a little tent treat holder we made in my recent Valentine’s class.  It was so easy to make, and I love that you can make 2 holders out of one 4 bar notecard.  You can download the template for this treat holder on the A Muse blog here.

I used my Martha Stewart scalloped heart punch to make the little hearts, and a Marvy punch to make the center punch.  I will say though, my Martha punch was ridiculously hard to use – I bought it last year and don’t remember it being so difficult.  No amount of tin foil or muscle was making it any easier.  Next time, I won’t be using that to punch when I need lots of pieces!!

We used one of the new A Muse valentine’s stamps, and some of the sparkly Copic Spica glitter pens to color in.  Hard to see from this angle, but we glued down 4 Hershey’s Kisses in the middle.

Enjoy!
