Happy January!

Okay, so I’m a little behind on posting my January calendar.  I have a good excuse though – this little one has been keeping me on my toes!

Julia was born on New Year’s Eve, and her big sister Ryan is very happy to finally have her here!

It’s quite an adjustment going back to the newborn stage, but we’re loving it!  Might be a bit more challenging once my husband goes back to work – yikes!

Here is my calendar for January – I’m still working on finishing those that I was planning on giving for gifts during the holidays- and January is almost over!

I used Ice Blue chalk ink- one of my favorite ink colors, and added some chunky clear glitter with a Quickie glue pen.  My goal with the calendar this year was to make one that would be easier to mass produce, yet still very pretty and fun.

I’ve also been working more on my digital scrapbooking skills.  It makes it so much easier to get things done (especially these days!), but I still miss a bit of the feel of real paper textures and embellishments.  I think there is some happy medium in there for me.  Here are a few layouts I did digitially for my December Daily album.  I think it’s nothing short of a miracle that I actually finished that album before the baby was born.  Except for the cover- I don’t count that :)   I decided to go with Ali Edward’s “embrace imperfection” theory.  It was the only way I was ever going to finish :)
